Uncommon Union helped spearhead a comprehensive campaign to bring justice for the Yazidi people, victims of the ISIS genocide in Northern Iraq. The campaign led to a review of the case by the International Criminal Court, coverage from every major international outlet, and substantial support from prominent officials and governments, including President Macron, the U.S. State Department, and the German State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg. Public pressure prompted the United Nations Security Council to pass Resolution 2379, which launched an investigation into the war crimes committed by ISIS against the Yazidi people. These efforts culminated in the emergence of Nadia Murad, the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

Uncommon Union played several key roles:

• Execution and Management: Coordinating a global team of Yazidi victims and elevating leaders within the community.
• Partnership and Resource Mobilization: Securing funding, endorsements, and support from influential figures and organizations.

• Technical Services: Developed and implemented new technologies to support crowdsourced evidence gathering from the Yazidi diaspora.
• Media: Co-produced the Sundance Award-winning documentary On Her Shoulders (2019 Oscar-nominated), featuring Nadia Murad and highlighting her global advocacy campaign for Yazidi genocide survivors.
