Engineering for Place-Based Economic Development

During the COVID-19 crisis, businesses in the Brooklyn Navy Yard (BNY) collaborated to mitigate the pandemic’s impact, inspiring the creation of Pull City. Pull City started as a platform to foster sustainable local business communities by leveraging automation, machine learning, and collaborative tools to strengthen local supply chains for modern manufacturers.

Pull City launched its pilot platform, Brooklyn Pull, in BNY, serving nearly 500 companies across various sectors like electronics, food & beverage, and design. Developed in partnership with over 150 businesses, Brooklyn Pull participated in notable BNYDC programs, including Yard Labs and Series-Y, contributing to BNY’s reuse catalog launch.

Pull City is now expanding into the DUMBO neighborhood through a partnership with the DUMBO Business Improvement District (BID) to become a community-focused AI platform and service-based company. Learn more about Pull City at our www.pull.city.
